Meet The Team

Jason Fleay
Managing Director

Jason is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years experience in public practice and commerce. Whilst working for the second tiered chartered firm William Buck he undertook his studies in the professional year, where he was awarded the Advanced Taxation Candidate of the year prize in Western Australia and a merit certificate for the top 5% of students in Australia.

Jason commenced his own chartered accounting boutique practice Fleay & Bandy as a Director/Shareholder in the year 2000. The firm provided taxation and business services to an extensive client base. Jason sold his share of the practice in 2009 then commenced with ROCG Perth in May 2010 as a manager. Leaving ROCG after 5 years service Jason joined Pass Newton in May 2015.  

Jason specialises in providing taxation and consulting advice to small and midsized businesses in various industries including retail, manufacturing, construction, property, medical, agriculture, transport and mining/engineering services.

Having been a business owner Jason understands the pressures most enterprises encounter. He is experienced in business development, strategic planning together with complex taxation and commercial matters.

Jason likes to spend time on the weekend with his wife Michelle and 3 children. He also enjoys surfing, master’s hockey, running and the gym.

Michelle is a Chartered Accountant with experience in public practice and commerce.

Work experience includes running her own small accounting practice as a proprietor, a financial controller of a non-profit organisation and various senior roles in accounting firms.

Michelle has experience in industries which including the IT sector and national and international taxes and CFO services.

Her strengths are in working closely with clients in ascertaining on-going financial and strategic directions and needs of the business, as well as compliance taxation and financial requirements.

Other involvements – both present and past include chairperson and treasurer roles on boards and committees including sporting, humanitarian and school organisations

Michelle is also an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.

Work experience includes running her own small accounting practice as a proprietor, a financial controller of a non-profit organisation and various senior roles in accounting firms.

Michelle has experience in industries which including the IT sector and national and international taxes and CFO services.

Brian initially worked at various large commercial organisations including National Australia Bank and BHP. He progressed through various positions in these companies whilst maintaining his studies attending the then WA Institute of Technology (WAIT) now Curtin University.

Following on from his work in commerce in April 1976 Brian then founded the accounting practice of Pass Newton in Geraldton with Reg Pass.

Brian also has extensive involvement over many years with the Little Athletics organisation. He has been the Treasurer, Coaching and Education Officer and Chairman of West Australian Little Athletics (WALA) over a period of seventeen years and then a further six years as the Finance Director of Australian Little Athletics (ALA).  As a result of this involvement he has been awarded Life Membership of both WALA and ALA and in 2000 was awarded an Australian Sports Medal.
